US Form 1040 Income Tax Return Preparation
US citizens and residents are required to file a Form 1040, U.S. Individual Income Tax Return, if certain requirements are met. Depending on the filing status – e.g. single, married filing jointly, head of household etc., thresholds exist for filing a US individual income tax return. In addition, children and other dependents file income tax returns if their earnings exceed other amounts. Individuals with no earned income may also need to file a return in other circumstances, even if the filing threshold for their filing status is not met. This includes having net earnings from self employment that exceed $400, or receiving a Health Savings Account Distribution.
